Decorating with a Touch of the Past

The motto for the Victorian at Heart blog is "Decorating with a touch of the Past". Whether the item dates back to Victorian times or is a recent find with an aged appearance it gives charm to a tablescape, vignette, or any space you are decorating. I use to call it junking, thrifting, and now antiquing but whatever you call it, you need to love the piece you buy. If you love it, you can find a place for it.

One question that I am most frequently asked is "How did you come up with that idea?". It may just take a theme, color, shape, or texture to set my mind to wondering. There have been times while reading a novel or just one word that sets my mind to visualizing a vignette. It seems if you have pieces that you love, they will fit together.

I always say, if you love it and you feel that "aha moment when you see it" it will work for you.
