May Day

I'm so glad you haven't given up on me for not posting.  Life has been busy....mostly fun adventures and projects since my husband retired.  Anyway, I'm sitting in my backyard on May 1st thinking how blessed I am so I thought I would share my view.

I wish you could hear the sound of the water flowing over these rocks....it is so soothing.

I think I will walk out and get a closer look.

The flowers next to the grass are usually a solid yellow and
the bushes in the middle have pink flowers.

Our apricot tree is starting to produce some fruit
that will have to be a pie or cobbler in the near future.

My husband brought me a bouquet of flowers to enjoy while I had breakfast on the patio.

Of course, I had to add some embellishments to make a vignette.

By the start of May, most trees are in full leaf, many Spring flowers are in bloom and the Earth is brimming with both plant, animal, and human life taking advantage of the longer daylight hours which includes me being able to enjoy my breakfast alfresco.

Have a Blessed May !!!

  1. Your yard is looking wonderful, Gail. It is hard to believe that not too long ago it was just a pile of dirt. I can see why you want to sit and enjoy it. I like knowing that you have pieces (rocks) from our house to enjoy.
David is a master designer and so sweet to give you a reason to do a vignette.

    1. I think the majority of our waterfall rocks came from your house. Thanks so much. I think David did a great job of landscaping our backyard and I take every opportunity I can to enjoy it.

  2. Your back yard is gorgeous, Gail! I can see why you love sitting out there and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds. So nice to see you on Sunday...thanks for making the long trip down. I sent you an email re the door handle...don't know if you received it as I have not heard back. I will keep it safe for you until you let me know one way or the other.

    All the best,
